Honouring Fernand Nault

L’École supérieure de ballet du Québec will pay tribute to the legacy of Fernand Nault, a pioneer in the field of dance in Quebec, by renaming a dance studio in his honour on March 13. The man who choreographed the renowned Nutcracker presented by the Grands Ballets Canadiens every Christmas season since 1964, worked with several generations of dancers.

Five young ballerinas from L’École supérieure de ballet du Québec stole the show “on pointe” during the most recent Semaine de la mode de Montréal. They were invited to showcase their skills in a unique fashion setting that put the dance school in the spotlight during the Spring 2012 runway presentation of Montreal’s very own Second clothing label.

The audition tour will come to an end on April 17. It will be the last chance for our youngsters interested in attending a dance-study program starting in September to show what they have got to the team of experts overseen by Mrs. Anik Bissonnette.

L’École supérieure pays tribute to Mr.Daniel Seillier, illustrious ballet master who profoundly marked the school but also the rest of the dance world. During a special event held on October 14, 2011, the Balanchine studio was renamed Studio Seillier.
