L’École supérieure de ballet du Québec congratulates its Artistic Director Anik Bissonnette, the winner of the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Achievement, the highest honour in Canadian dance.
“The honour bestowed upon Ms. Bissonnette is not only an occasion to congratulate her but also to express our pride at having a dancer with such an exceptional career as the Artistic Director of L’École supérieure. There is no doubt that she will make her mark in training the next generation of high-level dancers, and we applaud her dedication to these performers of tomorrow,” declared Madeleine Féquière, president of L’École supérieure, after the announcement of the GGPAAs at the PHI Centre in Montreal.
“Ms. Bissonnette has always been able to combine excellence and emotion, and we are so happy to see her rewarded in this way,” added Alix Laurent, Executive Director of L’École supérieure.
“Her reputation reflects on our school, and her ever-present commitment as a professional serves to sustain the dream of our founder, Madame Ludmilla Chiriaeff.”

Ms. Bissonnette will accept her award in a ceremony at Rideau Hall on Friday, May 9, 2014.
