Cuban choreographer Marina Villanueva shares her long experience with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. Quebec-trained Venezuelan dancer Ana Sofía Natera joins a company that already boasts some 15 Latin and Hispanic talents. Both will bring their heritage to Montreal dance.

Montreal is a meeting point for dance talent. With a cast of 45 Canadian and international dancers, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens stands out for its multicultural character.

After graduating from the École Supérieure de Danse de Québec, Ana Sofia has been selected as an apprentice at Les Grands Ballets Canadiens for the 2025- 2026 season which starts right after the performances of Don Quixote.

« It is a great privilege. First of all to be able to join such a prestigious company. » said the young woman in an interview with RCI. « This achievement is the result of years of effort and the realization of such a 'big dream I've had since I was a little girl ».

Recently, at 20 years of age, Ana Sofia explored her own migratory experience through dance.

« I wanted to transmit that evolution I had from the moment I immigrated to Canada, when I realized that my life was not going to be like it was before. » she explained.
