Ludmilla Day: a day to dance together, differently
Every year, the École supérieure takes advantage of the birthday of its founder, Ludmilla Chiriaeff, to organize a special day for its students. On January 9, 2026, students from the Intermediate, Advanced, and Higher levels of the professional program took part in multi-level classes (all ages and levels combined) that encouraged interaction, curiosity, and the joy of dancing together.
The day began with ballet classes, followed in the afternoon by an exploration of other styles, including hip-hop and breakdancing, in an energetic and inclusive atmosphere. To honor the memory of our founder, the documentary Ludmilla Chiriaeff, Grande Dame of Quebec Ballet, by director Maxime Kravchinsky, was screened at the Vincent-Warren Dance Library. It was a day that was both unifying and inspiring, launching 2026 with momentum and camaraderie.
