New momentum for the ESBQ Foundation Board of Directors
Following its annual general meeting held on October 28, the Fondation de l’École supérieure de ballet du Québec (ESBQ) announced changes to its board of directors: a new co-presidency, an updated executive committee, and the arrival of two new directors.
New co-presidents: Lyse George joins Etienne Lavigne
A director since last year, Lyse George was elected co-president alongside Etienne Lavigne, who is continuing his term.
Lyse George – An experienced manager in philanthropy, communications, and cultural organization management, she stands out for her ability to mobilize partners around large-scale projects and accurately position strategic issues. She has contributed to the development and partnerships of the CHUM Foundation and served on the committee for Montreal's 375th anniversary celebrations. She has held management positions with renowned organizations (One Drop/Cirque du Soleil, MusiquePlus-MusiMax, Publicité-Club de Montréal, ADISQ). A former dancer with the Ballets Jazz de Montréal, she also served as the company's director of tours and schools. Her career combines a strong sense of networking, rigor, and a keen understanding of the arts and philanthropy.
On the executive committee, Mélissa Drouin was also appointed treasurer-secretary.
Two new members join the board of directors
The Foundation also welcomes two new directors, whose expertise will enrich its governance and strengthen its support for the next generation of artists trained at the École supérieure.
Patricia Lussier – A landscape architect, partner, and design director at Lemay, she has been shaping public spaces that bring together territory, culture, and quality of life for over 25 years. A recipient of numerous awards, notably for Parc Jean-Drapeau and Place des Montréalaises, she brings a sensitive and structuring vision that resonates with the values of creativity and openness promoted by the École supérieure.
Marisol Houle – Director of Alumni Relations, Philanthropic Engagement, and Strategic Partnerships at Collège André-Grasset, she has extensive experience with organizations such as the CHUM Foundation, Leucan, and the Les Petits Trésors Foundation. Driven by collective impact, she builds lasting relationships between donors, institutions, and communities.
Thanks to outgoing members
The Foundation salutes the remarkable contribution of Natacha Engel, outgoing co-chair, who has been involved with the Foundation's board of directors for a dozen years. In particular, she founded and led the Foundation's Jeune Scène d'affaires (Young Business Scene) for 10 years, mobilizing many young professionals around dance. François Gervais, outgoing treasurer, is also warmly thanked for his contribution to the sound management and development of projects.
The École supérieure and the Foundation thank all the administrators for their commitment to the training, support, and development of the next generation of dancers.
