
Elaine Gaertner
A native of Montreal, Elaine Gaertner studied at McGill University and participated in chamber music forums at Bennington College in Vermont. She began her career as a freelance musician, collaborating on recordings for Quebec artists such as Céline Dion and Ginette Reno, on Radio-Canada variety shows, and in chamber music concerts as a member of the faculty at Concordia University.
Since 1986, she has accompanied dance classes at the École supérieure de ballet du Québec (ESBQ), where she has also taught music since 1996. Today, she is responsible for the ESBQ's team of pianists and teaches ballet accompaniment to pianists from around the world. She also provides musical training to teachers enrolled in the dance education program and to Cégep 2 students.
Elaine Gaertner is the author of numerous articles on music and dance, several of which have been published in Dance International magazine.
