Myriam Simon

A native of Montreal, Myriam Simon distinguished herself from an early age with her extraordinary talent and passion for dance. Trained with rigor and excellence at the École supérieure de ballet du Québec, she then continued her training at the National Ballet School of Canada in Toronto before embarking on a remarkable international career.

Her career path first took her to the Guangzhou Ballet in China, then to the Leipzig Ballet and the Hanover Opera Ballet. She went on to shine at the Royal Ballet of Flanders and the National Ballet of Portugal, before joining the prestigious Stuttgart Ballet, where she rose through the ranks to become a prima ballerina. Throughout her career, Myriam has performed the leading roles in the greatest ballets of the classical and contemporary repertoire. Her sensitive interpretation and artistic versatility are evident in works by Neumeier, Béjart, Kylian, Goecke, Hans van Manen, Cranko, Bournonville, MacMillan, Spuck, Balanchine, Forsythe, Marcia Haydée, and many others. Several renowned choreographers have even entrusted her with original creations, specially designed for her.

Invited to perform on the most prestigious stages, Myriam danced at the Paris Opera, the Bolshoi Ballet, the London Coliseum, and the Royal Theater in Madrid. After a brilliant international career, Myriam Simon chose to return to Montreal to join Les Grands Ballets Canadiens as a principal dancer. In 2023, she decided to share the expertise and passion that have always driven her by becoming a teacher at the École supérieure de ballet du Québec.

Her career inspires young dancers to believe in their dreams and push the boundaries of their art—an eloquent example of the international reach and influence of the École supérieure de ballet du Québec's graduates.
