Article | Guillaume Côté, Ambassador for the ESBQ and its “Dancing for Health” program

As part of the fundraising gala for the Fondation de l’École supérieure de ballet du Québec, dancer and choreographer Guillaume Côté gave an interview to Ludwig Van Montréal, in which he shared his deep passion for dance and for supporting the next generation of artists.

As an ambassador for the event, he particularly highlights the essential role of rigorous training, which fosters discipline, sensitivity, and the ability to push one’s limits. The interview also addresses the demands of professional practice and the importance of tailored guidance—values at the heart of the École supérieure’s pedagogical approach, embodied in its Danser en santé program.

“The ESBQ’s holistic approach has made it a benchmark in Canada and internationally. Each year, the *Danser en santé program invests $75,000 in services supporting the physical, mental, and emotional health of aspiring dancers. These services may take the form of workshops on stress and performance management, healthy lifestyle programs, personalized consultations, cooking classes and nutrition workshops, coaching provided by a professional team specializing in dancers’ health, and access to a training facility to prevent injuries.” [Excerpt from the article]*

The “Rencontrez l’exceptionnel” benefit gala helps support the ESBQ’s mission: to train the next generation of dance artists and support their artistic and personal development.
