From banners to tote bags : an eco-friendly initiative to take home

At the École supérieure de ballet du Québec, our promotional banners are given a new lease on life. Transformed into eco-friendly tote bags, they become one-of-a-kind items that are both practical and attractive, and serve as a reminder of the past.

Giving Our Materials a Second Life
In an effort to reduce our environmental impact, the École supérieure de ballet du Québec repurposes its fabric banners by turning them into sustainable tote bags. This initiative helps reduce waste while making use of materials that have already been produced.

The initiative was proposed by Coralie Muroni, Director of Communications and Public Relations, and implemented by Marisol Martinez, a ballet teacher and Assistant to the Executive Director – as well as a talented seamstress! – with a practical focus on reuse and creativity.

One-of-a-kind pieces, rich in meaning
Each bag is crafted from promotional banners for shows, students, and graduates, making it a truly unique item. The patterns, colors, and visible fragments vary from one bag to the next: no two bags are alike!

How can I get a bag?
Bags are available for $25. You can pick one out at the school’s front desk and pay on-site or via the Amilia platform.
