Our Juniors Shine in Le Lac by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens

This season, all students in the Junior Division of the École supérieure de ballet du Québec had the opportunity to participate in Ivan Cavallari’s new production, Le Lac, presented by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens at Place des Arts from May 28 to June 7.

This large-scale production brings together more than 75 performers on stage and offers our young dancers, aged 10 to 12, an exceptional professional experience. They share the stage with professional artists from Les Grands Ballets - many of whom are ESBQ alumni! - in a work inspired by the famous Swan Lake, reimagined in a contemporary setting.

This participation underscores the importance of the ties between the École supérieure de ballet du Québec and its sister company, Les Grands Ballets, allowing our students to develop their stage experience alongside top-tier artists.

We are also proud to see our teacher Anne Dryburgh take part in the production in the role of the dance teacher at the Imperial School, offering our students the unique opportunity to share the stage with one of their own teachers.

Her remarkable career, spanning both teaching and performance, was recently highlighted in an article in Le Devoir.
