Performance
At L'École supérieure de ballet du Québec, passion for dance meets excellence in a creative, supportive and inclusive environment.
Our team is dedicated to nurturing talent, commitment and life balance so that every student benefits from training that enables them to reach their full potential and realize their artistic ambitions.
Since its incorporation in 1966 by Madame Ludmilla Chiriaeff, our school has led hundreds of artists to the world's most prestigious stages. It is the only French-language institution in North America to offer international-calibre ballet training.
The performance program is designed to develop students' artistic, morphological, psychological and technical skills.
Two programs are offered :
- The Classical ballet program is subdivided into 4 learning cycles, from Junior to Superior, to accompany students at every stage of their development, right up to the Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Classical Dance Performance.
- The Contemporary ballet program is designed for students in Secondary, corresponding to the Intermediate and Advenced cycles.
Curriculum
Auditions for the 2027–2028 school year will be held:
- on January 31, 2027 for the Classical ballet Program.
- on February 7, 2027 for the Contemporary ballet Program.
Starting in high school, selection is a two-step process for the Classical ballet Program: shortlisting on video + auditions before a jury.
For the Contemporary Ballet Program, no video preselection is required. Simply register for the audition.
Applicants residing outside Quebec or abroad may complete the entire audition process via video. However, whenever possible, we recommend participating in the in-person audition before a jury.
